The new compact class, the new era of the A-Class

The A-Class is the first Mercedes-Benz model series with front-wheel drive in the compact class. Since 2012, instead of practical A-Class, there are only compact cars. In the latest generation, the A-Class becomes more luxurious with new high-tech features from the luxury class, such as an assistance system and voice control system. The "Sensual-Purity" design line, with its smooth structure and few edges and beads, continues to be a classic feature of the compact class in the new generation. Nevertheless, the A-Class appears more muscular than it did in the W 176 series. Among other things, the lowered hood and the new radiator grille give the front of the A-Class a more aggressive and dynamic design. In addition to exterior changes, the interior also features new levels of comfort thanks to high-quality comfort seats and noise insulation from the engine and road traffic. Improved suspension and handling in the steering provide more grip and a feeling of safety on the road. Mercedes is leading the way in terms of engine choice for the A-Class: the compact class is available as a diesel, petrol and plug-in hybrid. Here, the most powerful model in the A-Class, the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4Matic+ with twin-scroll turbo and all-wheel drive, gets an athletic power of 421 hp with 500 Nm. The A-Class with AMG also delivers high-gloss performance with acceleration from 0 - 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. Already without AMG, the A-Class with the A250 4Matic comes to a strong 224 S at 350 NM and 6.2 seconds from 0 - 100 km/h.
